Art

Welcome to the Art section of Andrews Antiquaria, a curated showcase of creative expression across canvas, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, carvings, textiles, and metalwork.  Art has always invited personal debate.  What one person sees as inspired creativity, another may dismiss as a mere pastime.  This raises a timeless question: what truly defines art?

Is art simply the physical act of creation — the brush strokes, the shaping of clay, the carving of wood?  Or is true art the outward expression of an inner feeling, emotion, or statement?  And if art is indeed an expression of the artist’s inner world, who are we to critique, condemn, or congratulate those efforts?  Feelings and interpretations differ for each of us, making every artistic experience uniquely personal.

Perhaps, to borrow and reshape a familiar saying, art is in the eye — or the ear — of the beholder.  Or, as Shakespeare mused, “Where is fancy bred, or in the heart, or in the head.”  His question echoes the same mystery: does creativity arise from emotion or thought?

Here in this section, you’ll find works that reflect both — pieces born from the heart, shaped by the hand, and interpreted by the viewer.
